Guangdong Institute of Microbiology (Guangdong microbiological analysis and detection center) (hereinafter referred to as GMI) passed the metrological certification (CMA) in 1999, with the status of independent legal person and third-party laboratory. In 2004, it was approved by China National Accreditation Committee for laboratories (CNAL). The testing data can be recognized internationally. It has become a legal testing institution that can provide notarized data for trade certification, product quality evaluation and achievement appraisal for the society, and has legal effect. In 2000, with the approval of Guangdong Provincial Bureau of quality and technical supervision, Guangdong Provincial Quality Supervision edible fungi inspection station was set up under the Guangdong Provincial Institute of microbiology. In 2002, it passed the metrological certification of Guangdong Province for the first time, and undertook the supervision and sampling inspection task of edible fungi entrusted by Guangdong Provincial Bureau of quality and technical supervision.
